In the past, injectable collagen was the cosmetic filler most widely used to improve the appearance of these lines. Unfortunately, the benefits of injected collagen didn’t last long. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) dermal fillers are the next generation of cosmetic fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. JUVÉDERM^® is an injectable gel from Allergan, the makers of BOTOX^®. It is used to correct facial lines and wrinkles, enhance and define lips, and soften the appearance of depressed scars. JUVÉDERM^® is available in two thicknesses, Ultra for lips and shallow folds, and Ultra Plus for deeper folds. Our physician will inject JUVÉDERM^® into the area you wish to treat with a fine needle. You will see results immediately and there is no downtime. The treatment takes about 30 minutes and results can last up to 1 year. During your initial consultation, we will work with you to provide specific recommendations regarding whether JUVÉDERM^® Ultra or JUVÉDERM^® Ultra Plus is right for you.
